Why Rhemalda

Rhemalda Publishing is dedicated to books and authors. It is our mission and culture to collaborate with authors, editors, artists, marketers, and publicists to make our books visible to as wide of an audience as possible.

As a leading independent small press like Rhemalda, there’s an awful lot going on every day. There is no doubt that the publishing industry is in a state of change. Rhemalda couldn’t be more excited about all the new opportunities to connect authors and readers. In short, we embrace the change.

I was recently asked what it means for Rhemalda to be an independent small press. For Rhemalda, it means a passion for books, a passion for authors, and a belief that a great book can change the life of a reader. It means a publishing environment where every book is personal and every author’s voice has a place.

Rhemalda Publishing's mission is to provide high-quality books through careful treatment of manuscripts by working hand-in-hand with authors so as not to take away, but enhance, the original vision for the written word.

Rhemalda Publishing has a few key people who make it all happen.

Rhett Hoffmeister, President and Publisher

Rhett is the co-founder of Rhemalda Publishing. His 10-plus years of project management experience ensures that books with tight schedules still get the attention that they deserve, while making sure that each author plays an active role in raising his or her “baby” from manuscript to book. This ensures that the author’s “baby” did not get “swapped at the hospital.”

His honest, straightforward and charismatic personality make him personable to each and every author, no matter if they are the most outgoing extrovert or the shyest introvert. He is so approachable that each Rhemalda author feels at ease speaking their mind, voicing their opinions and most of all telling him their concerns.

Despite all of this, he is goal-oriented and keeps his eye focused on the publication date and able to make the best decisions for the author, their book and Rhemalda Publishing.

With an ear for a good story and an eye for good cover art, Rhett makes each and every book that Rhemalda Publishes the best that it can be.

Emmaline Hoffmeister, Vice President

Emmaline is the co-founder of Rhemalda Publishing. With 10-plus years of experience in auditing, accounting and finance, Emmaline likes the projects to deliver on (or under) budget, the profit and loss statements to always show in the black, sales to exceed expectations and every stitch of paperwork to be independently reviewed and properly filed.

Emmaline works directly with Rhemalda’s financial and legal representatives for all aspects of printing, distribution and author contracts, copyrights, financial records and, most importantly, author royalties.

Any inquiry sent to Emmaline will be followed by a stack of documentation to support her decision… old auditing habits die hard!

Diane Dalton, Acquisitions Editor

Diane Dalton has been a freelance editor since 1999. She has edited and critiqued novels, letters, web pages, and press releases for various authors and companies.

Diane has worked with small presses evaluating unsolicited manuscripts for potential publication. She has also coached authors in composition and editing.

Diane’s expertise is in developmental editing, coordinating and editing projects from proposal through final manuscript, incorporating input from authors and reviewers. She also is an expert in stylistic editing, being able to clarify the author’s meaning/intent, eliminating jargon and polishing language. She is proficient in web-based research and has experience using The Chicago Manual of Style.

Melissa Williams

Melissa Williams has been professionally creating artwork and designwork for eight years. She adores working with authors because one of her favorite things to do is read great stories that carry her away to different worlds. Melissa also enjoys photography and catching up on her favorite television shows whenever she can.
